All the Single Ladies
Find your joy in being single
Valentine’s Day has just passed. It’s a day where many single people feel crappy for not having a relationship. After getting married at age 20, being divorced in my forties is both terrifying and exhilarating, but I do not miss my marriage. Not everyone comes from a background of control and abuse like I have, but even if your previous relationship was happy and healthy I’m here to list a few simple reasons being single is the shit, and to encourage you to enjoy your single life.
Popcorn and Wine for Dinner
When I was married I was once criticized for stirring pasta the wrong way. (I know, right?!?) Now, I eat what I want, when I want. Charcuterie plate for 5 nights straight? Done. No dinner at all but an apple at midnight? Done. Is it period time and all the carbs need to be eaten? I order pizza and breadsticks and eat in bed. Side bonus: eating when I want and what I want has led me to losing 20 pounds or so since I moved to Los Angeles. Listen to your body and enjoy not having a spouse demanding food on the table at a certain time.
